The Value of Choosing the Red Cross for your Training Needs

Ease of doing business with us
Classes can be scheduled at your facility or ours at a time that works for you. Our instructors are available daytime, evenings and weekends for all shifts. No need to pay day of class - we'll invoice you! And if you want to purchase safety products such as CPR barriers or first aid kits, we'll deliver them to you when we teach your class. Also, participant certification and re-certification records are maintained at our chapter. Our service commitment means that you can just focus on coordinating training and leave all the administrative chores to us.

Ease of contact with our staff
Our staff is available to answer any questions you might have regarding safety training for your group and we can schedule a class for you with only a few days notice and we'll maintain contact with you throughout the process of scheduling your class. Please contact Heather Walma at (719) 785-2728 or hwalma@pparc.org.

We're available when you need us
We need only a few days notice to schedule a class for your group. We employ a handful of experienced instructors with flexible availability to meet your needs. Daytime, evenings, weekends and all shifts can be accommodated. And after your training, we'll send you a recertification reminder when it's time for your group to recertify.

Competitively priced and affordable
When you compare the quality of instruction and service, you'll find that we're competitively priced against other providers of life-saving training. Our courses are designed to meet your training needs whether it's a combination of First Aid, Adult CPR, AED or Infant & Child CPR - we'll match the course to your certification needs. All American Red Cross courses and textbooks are based on the latest scientific advances in first aid and CPR. Each curriculum follows the most recent Emergency Cardiovascular Care guidelines and meets OSHA requirements. Each student receives a participant workbook and large, laminate Skills Card with illustrated step-by-step instructions. Also, each Red Cross course combines the use of video, lecture and hands-on skills practice to reinforce learning. Our instructors are very experienced, knowledgeable professionals and provide quality instruction.

Give back to your community
Because the American Red Cross is a non-profit organization, the dollars you invest in training go right back into your community to support lifesaving disaster preparedness and response programs and service to the armed forces.

We're a perfect fit for your organization
Red Cross CPR and first aid courses meet the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Guidelines and OSHA’s Guidelines for First Aid. We offer customer-tested standardized courses with a solid base of practiced instructors to deliver them. The courses you receive in Colorado are the same courses being taught all over the country through other Red Cross chapters.

Peace of mind
From CPR, first aid and automated external defibrillator training to injury prevention courses, bloodborne pathogens training and community disaster education, Red Cross training offers complete, flexible programs that help you stay prepared for virtually any life-threatening situation. Also, participant certification and re-certification records are maintained at our chapter. Our service commitment means that you can just focus on training and leave the administrative chores to us. All students who participate in Red Cross courses receive student books which can be used as future reference materials. Studies show that CPR skills retention is lost about six months after having been trained. Our one-year CPR certification and student materials encourage skills and knowledge retention so that students are as prepared as possible to aid in a emergency.

Protected by the Good Samaritan Law
The Colorado Good Samaritan Law helps to protect rescuers who voluntarily help a victim in distress. These laws are designed to encourage people to help a stranger who is in need of assistance by reducing the fear that they could held accountable if they inadvertently make a mistake during treatment. Additionally, in Colorado, House bill 99-1283 also provides protection for use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED's).

Customer Referral Program
We have implemented a referral program for current Pikes Peak Chapter Health and Safety customers (Authorized Providers and contract class customers). In recognition of your efforts, we'd like to provide an opportunity for you to save some donations by referring other organizations to the American Red Cross Health & Safety training program. If you are a current customer of our's, your organization can receive a monetary reward for referring new business to the American Red Cross Pikes Peak Chapter. Here's how it works - for every organization that you refer to our chapter you will receive either a one-time bonus of $100 after your referred organization teaches their first class OR a one-time bonus of 20% of the course cost if your referred organization has us teach a class for them.

How do I refer someone to you? Here is the Referral Form. If there is an organization that you think could benefit from Health & Safety training, print and complete this form and submit it to our chapter at hwalma@pparc.org; fax to (719) 632-0206 or mail to 1040 S. 8th St., Colorado Springs, CO 80905. Our staff will contact this organization to get them started. If they teach a class or have us teach a class for them, your organization will receive compensation accordingly by check to the address we have on file after completion of the new organization's first class. Please note that your organization and the new customer accounts must be paid in full in order to receive your compensation. If you'd like to know the progress of your referral, you may contact Heather Walma at (719) 785-2728. We welcome your referrals and hope that you find this program beneficial to you.
